Do the benefits of a good high school education outweigh my happiness?

I think you will defiantly benefit in the long run. I'm not in exactly the same position as you but i can relate because i have had similar issues. The best advise i received was a trusted one, the likely hood of you getting a friend for life at school now isn't likely. Wait for when you go to university or college maybe and then you're going to be able to meet people who you can relate to as you're choosing the same paths ... on the grades thing try your hardest, its up to you to get as far as you can no matter how f******* frustrating people around you are. People can be bitchy and really problematic around you, they probably have their reasons. If your not friends with them now, that's okay ... because you've got the rest of your life to live - hope this helps
