How is it "good news" if I have a life sentence in prison but get a pardon?

I committed all kinds of crimes, but the fact that prisons exist shows that society is unjust. People should be able to rape, murder, and steal to their hearts' content. Just because I said I was sorry and received a pardon does not excuse society's evil.
