Why did God curse the human race based on the actions of Adam and Eve..?

when at the time they had no idea they were doing anything wrong while eating the forbidden fruit? They had no knowledge of good and evil until after the fact so it seems a bit unfair to punish the entire human race based on the actions of two people who did not know any better. Christians, I would love nothing more than to eat a big pot full of refried beans and then chase a box full of laxatives down with a bottle of cooking oil before shitting down your throats which is exactly what you do to us when you shove your ignorant and arrogant beliefs down our throats.
